Well I finally finished painting downstairs. Kitchen's done (except behind the refrigerator), and so is the bathroom. I just need to finish the upstairs bathroom, and a small touch up in the boys' room.
Last thing to do is to put up the borders. I tore the downstairs closet apart today looking for the damned things. Rhonda spent a lot on the ones she got for us, and I couldn't find them anyplace, so I decided the best thing to do was clean and take everything apart. I found them in the bottom of the closet eventually underneath everything.
In the process I put the shelves back up in the laundry room, and got my laundry sopas and such put away, along with cleaning the toilet and floor in there and in the hallway. The damned floor has been so dirty I'm hating walking around barefoot on it lately.
I'm so tired of unpacking, and sorting, and cleaning up again and again.
I have the fabric for the boys' curtains, took me a while last night, but I finally remembered which box it was in and dug it out. I got it ironed, and ready to go. All I need is to stick it together and toss em up on the windows.
I'm tired. Haven't been getting much sleep lately.
I'm stressed cause I just feel overworked. I need a break from the kids. Too much to do still, but I'm working my way through it slowly but surely.

On a brighter note, I bought a washer and dryer on Saturday for 50 dollars! 50 Dollars folks! I paid 40 at the local laundry mat last week to do 9 loads.
Of course we can't get them working yet because the dryer needs a new lint trap, and the washer hook up in the wall is all rusty and needs to be replaced, but I'm hoping we can get it fixed soon.

How long have you been married? 6 years, 7 months

Are you a 2 peas in a pod or an opposites attract couple? Opposites

Do you go out without your spouse? I prefer not cause he drives me bonkers LOL

Does your spouse? I guess so, eventually

How would you grade your sex life? I plead the 5th

When is the last time you or your spouse bought each other flowers? I think I got some on Mother's day if I'm not mistaken...but those may have been from my mother-in-law, I haven't gotten him flowers since we lived in Canada

So much

Gotta do, Gotta Do, Gotta Do.
I feel like curling up and sleeping forever. I'm so tired.
Gotta finish painting, make curtains for the upstairs, put up the borders in the rooms, vacuum vacuum vacuum, empty boxes and finish unpacking, hang pictures, put laundry away.
I want to get a bunk bed for the boys, Ronnie's pushing for a metal frame for Darius. I dunno what we're gonna do.
I hate being broke, but I have no one but myself to blame...I just need to manage my money better than what I have been. I fall victim to emotional buying as well.
I hate this stuck feeling where I feel like nothing in my relationships will get better. I can't do anything because I refuse to be the one who starts everything. It's always been that way it seems. Is it because it's just more believable to hear my voice say it than someone else's?
I want to turn around and walk away because I feel hopeless that we'll ever get better.
It is NOT my job to build that foundation, it is my job to support it.
I said this would happen, I predicted it, I saw it comin and I couldn't do ANYthing about it because it's like beating at a wall, the wall will always be a wall, I will always be human.
I need a hug and some time away.

*sigh*

Now that I've got that out of my system.
I spent today making much-needed phone calls to the local support circuits in the area.
Job & Family Services (to get our food stamps relocated), Women Infants Children (WIC- for extra nutritional support for Hunter), Help Me Grow (starts in 5-7 days with a home visit for assessment), Viola Startzman free Clinic (Someplace I can go for a Dr. visit!).
I still gotta get in touch with our phone company because they didn't give us a phone book or even an introduction packet cause though i set up our voicemail, I have no idea how to get into it, so it's not doing us much good.
I got a cell phone last week, finally. A simple pay-as-you-go so I can get in touch with people if I need to in a hurry.
I've been using it to text back and forth with mom, to at least keep SOME contact through the last bit where I've been shut off from the world.
I did the laundry yesterday...9 loads at the laundry mat totaling 40 dollars. ouch.
Chance has contracted VIRAL PHARYNGITIS, and LARYNGITIS. I'm glad to know that it's not anything overly serious, but am a bit disturbed to know that he's contagious.
Sanitizing here I come!
I'm farking tired.
Today was Hunter's second Birthday, and we honestly didn't do ANYthing for him. Rhonda brought over a couple of balloons for him, and Chance got a thing of ice cream to go with Rhonda's cupcakes, but I didn't make a cake or nothing. Too much going on. I'm just grateful kids don't usually remember their 2nd birthday, cause it could scar him for life if he could. LOL
Darius did wake him up this morning by crawling into bed and singing Happy birthday to him, which was the sweetest thing ever.
Weather weather weather. We've had storm after storm here, and though they really freak Darius out...I almost feel safer in town just because I'm closer to civilization I guess. It's a false sense of security, I know.
Too much to think about for blogging, I'm backlogged.

Oh My Glory

That took forever...when doesn't it, right?
We moved on the 17th? Feels like forever ago now.
We've all been moving, packing, un-packing, and hauling things up and down the stairs for ages now. We're all capable of coming out of this with buns and abs of steel. Holy Cow.
First, the place wasn't clean, in any way shape or form. We got new flooring, so while they're at it they mess the entire house again which makes it all need cleaning. Then we start moving stuff in after the major parts are painted (I still hafta do both bathrooms and a bit of a hallway), and realize...Hey, the electrical in the place barely works. We're getting most of the outlets replaced because only a couple work.
I'm tired...exhausted, of moving, and I'm sure Don & Rhonda are too.
It's easy when you're tired to slip into those moods...I feel like I'm going to be poor and needy forever. I feel like we'll always need help, that we'll never get past that. And I feel like I'm now obligated to make something of my life, and those of my children's now that we're in this deep. Like there's no control on my part.
Hopefully all of that will pass.
All I can keep saying to myself, because I dare not say it out loud, because it's really just not something helpful to say, is "I TOLD YOU SO". This is exactly what I predicted, and though it's not nearly so bad as I imagined it, it's still fairly intolerable.
We're such novices at moving, we actually believed everyone when they said they'd help us. Of course, those were just words, as we chose an off-day to move and everyone was busy.
We didn't hardly pack anything, which is another sure sign that we're just not that used to moving.
We missed a lot of major meltdowns by the kids, and slipped through with only a few to show.
Darius is in day-camp for this week, which is helping with the transition of unpacking and sorting.
I feel like I'll be unpacking forever.
I need to finish packing, and making curtains for the upstairs rooms...I need to call that bastard who's holding my serger hostage.
I am sorry to report that my money for this month (Child Tax) was blown away to smithereens with really not a whole lot of important stuff to show for it. I did order new glasses (250 bux later) and have only paid for half so far.
There's lots of little things I want to blog about, but those will come as I catch up on blogging, now that our internet & phone are working (Thanks SO much to Don for all his hard work in that area).
Life goes on.

ahem ahem

We had to show the house today. Bauer Management (our realty company who manages our rental property) called us last night to arrange a showing for today. Two separate people showed up at 10 & 10:30 am to look at the place and I had to turn them away because it was arranged for 7pm this evening, and the house was still a mess.
So, I spent my day cleaning like a woman possessed. I got the downstairs as clean as I possibly could (considering I started at 2pm eep), and did the laundry while I was at it. At 4 we showered and dressed, and by 6 we headed over to Don & Rhonda's for dinner.
It stormed again today, so D wanted to go over there because he thought it was safer.
Anyhow...I was stressing because I didn't like the thought of strangers rooting through my house, peekin in closets and cupboards and such. I freak out and clean religiously when FRIENDS are coming over, so you can imagine how overboard I went for STRANGERS.
Anyhow, Chance stayed behind to help me feel better about them being in the house, and I guess he did a real good job showing it to the people (which doesn't surprise me). Once he gets interested in something (in this case our house) he does everything he can to find every little scrap of information about it, and he proceeded to pass it off to the people while the Real Estate Lady was speaking to another couple who had shown up to look at the place.
That does me proud, that his knowledge (that I sometimes think is pointless facts) turned out to be very useful.
Anyhow...when he mentioned that the place would be "a lot cleaner" when we left, the lady who was looking said "Cleaner, this place is immaculate".
Ahem ahem...*pats self on back*
Yep, I'm just that good.

Big Storm

We had a nice big storm during the day for once here.
Chance posted me on the porch with the camera, and I got the most amazing shot of a lightning strike.
The first video is of the cloud rotation right above our back yard, and the second is the one of the lightning strike...it hits 7 seconds into the video. Keep watching, because at the 1:10 second time frame a second strike hits, but all you can see is the flash and instantaneous boom of our neighbors house being hit while I was turning off the camera to keep the videos short.
I am awed by the power of nature after today.

Took Darius to see the new Indiana Jones last night. It was ok, but seemed a bit far fetched. Never having lived in that time frame, and being raised in a time of skepticism, I have a hard time imagining that those sorts of behaviors were accepted as normal.
The storyline was a little far fetched, but I felt it stayed true to the former Indiana Jones Movies.
What a frustrating day. *sigh*
I'll be glad when I can just be social with the kids.
Grrr.

Happy Birthday Chance!

Today is Chance's 28th Birthday. :o)
We're headed to Ashland for dinner at his favorite Chinese Buffet place...yum.
The kids and I picked him out a movie (Balls of Fury), a shirt (the super-tight exercise kind), and some no-show socks...I know, SO exciting, but I've never been one to give a flamboyant gift. No, I don't consider the Wii flamboyant...LOL

It is super HOT and super humid out, the minute you step outside you're drenched in sweat, so we ended up driving the truck to do our errands today because Ronnie's A/C in her car is broken :o(

Well, today we (Rhonda, the kids & I) swung by the new place to pick our keys for it and take a peek to see what still needed to be done, and we were shocked by the apparent lack of care in the place.
We found carpet tack sticking out around the doorways, a light fixture pulled out and exposed from the ceiling, the dishwasher had a broken door, the appliances hadn't been cleaned under, the patio door has no latch, and can therefore not be locked (unless you put a stick in the track of course), the walls were appalling (apparently there was a spoken agreement that Chance would paint that I had NO idea about), there was no rail installed at the base of the stairs so I could install a gate, and the stove had burners that didn't plug in properly. There was a bunch more, but that's the major of it for now. Given the condition of the place there's no way we can move in this Sunday like we had planned, which required us to put both our friends and the moving truck on hold. How frustrating!
Out of the deal, we get to choose the paint color and do the painting on Tues/Wed, new carpeting, and a new dishwasher.
I also made an appointment (how stupid, that I have to do that) to get D enrolled in School for Wednesday at 9am.
I'm sort of glad we have more time now because we still need to find a washer and a dryer or we'll be hitting the laundry mat, and I hate the difficulty of that with two kids (It's no fun lugging baskets full of stuff with two kids in tow). But, I guess if it needs to be done, I can manage :o)

We got a bunch of big boxes from the school today (for some reason we haven't been able to find any ANYplace), thanks to Don for that.

Tomorrow night we're having another UFC night along with a small party for Chance for his birthday. The house is a pig-sty and has been since we started packing. I gotta clean some.

What a long day.
Went down south for the day, visited Grandpa Klusty, Acette and the kids, and Jill and her little girl.
got some pictures.
Oh my god, we left super early, and got next to no sleep...I ROCK! I still got it, I can still function on 3 hours of sleep for an entire day.
Wonder how long that'll last.
Went and visited Mike the other day, and spent 3 hours with him before returning him back to the home...it was a beautiful day out and we went for a picnic in the park with the kids, and managed to have the entire park to ourselves.
I need to order some pictures from Shutterfly before I send out this month's letters. Hmm.
We get the key to our new place on Friday...and start moving in this weekend.
I'm starting to clean this house, little by little. Cupboard fronts, and walls are first, then the light fixtures and ceiling fans, finishing with the windows and floors. hopefully we'll do ok clean-wise and qualify for the whole damage deposit.
I'm so excited to be moving into town, and it's finally starting to sink in.
I've been a member at myyearbook.com for a while now (to support Eric, originally) and have been challenged to my first battle (Not that it really matters to anyone), and am feeling the love o fhte 160 + friends I have and am winning by a landslide. I'm so happy that all the time and effort I've put into that stupid site is paying off, and I feel special.
Need more boxes to pack pack pack.
Chance wants to go to his favorite Chinese Buffet for dinner Friday night...yay. I dunno what I'm gonna get him, but I think I have a few things in mind.

Movies I Wanna See

New This Summer, the list of movies I'm hoping to hit the theaters for...(I wonder if they have a set of movie passes I can buy to make it easier on the wallet?)

The Happening (M. Night Syamalan's newest, Oh Boy! and it's rated R too!)
Get Smart
The Love Guru
Wall E
Hancock
Hellboy 2
The Dark Knight
The Mummy, Tomb of the Dragon Emperor
